Wearable arts is a big event it this school. It’s where you collect recyclable and used things and make a dress suit costume or mask. M y one is some silage wrapping cut into strips washed stapled together to make overalls. I made a shirt to go underneath out of black polythene and duct tape. The gumboots are made of black polythene and duct tape as well with a little black paint on them.

This is my maths work on equivalent fractions. Equivalent fractions is sort of like simplifying them. If it is 9/39 they both can be divided by three. That equals 3/13.or if there is 27/63 they both can be divided by 9. That equals 3/7. This maths is quite easy to get the hang of.

science fair

This is my science fair that I made.

I chose to do paper planes. I wanted to find out if a planes length would affect its flight length. I cut 2cm off my first paper 5cm off the next 8cm off and finally I left a piece of paper normal. I then turned them into paper planes and flew them in a hall and measured how far each one went. I then recorded that information and found the average I thought the long one would go the most furtherst. It was actually the one that i cut 2cm off that one. I learned how to fair test and how to make a hypothesis and a science fair board.

Science fair was quit hard and I don’t think I would do it again.

Week 7 Term 2

This week in English I have done a report on weta. First we took notes. Note taking is when you have two or more pieces of information and you take snippets of information and write them down in groups on a piece of paper. A group is like the general information and the appearance. Then when you write the report you use the notes. A report is true facts about something.

In my maths i have done some fractions and decimal multiplication and dividing. When you turn a decimal into a fraction its out of how many numbers there are. e.g o.435 is 435/1000.

my goal is to finish my maths.

i will do this by staying on task

This week I have been doing my book review.When doing a book review it has to be a book that you have read recently and then you write a summary on it. After you’ve finished writing the summary then you write your opinion and how good the book was.I have learned note taking and about topic sentences. A topic sentence is a sentence that explains a whole paragraph.

In maths I am doing decimals like multiplying and dividing.

my goal is to get my maths finished.

week 3 term 2

This week I have learned how to make a science fair board. You have to do all this fair testing and record your information. Then you print the information out and stick it on coloured paper and stick it on the board. To fold it you fold it in quarters. Now you have a science fair board

In maths I have been learning about tree diagrams. they are quite hard but i’ll manage.

my goal is to have a succsesfull time in tech arts.

I will achieve this by being at my best.

week 5 term 2

This week we have been playing volley ball. Volley ball is where you hit a ball over the net. and the people on the other side hit it back to you. if the other team drop it or it gets past them and hits the ground their out.

in maths I am ordering decimals and adding and subtracting them.

My goal is to finish my maths

I will do this by not getting distracted.

week 4 term 2

we did some things but not many because people were at totara springs. we learned how to draw cats for art. we chose a topic wich was cat sayings so we have to draw them. My saying is cat got your tounge. Then I’ll draw a cat holding a tounge.

in english I wrote an explanation on flight.

In maths I did probabiliy. Thats guessing things.

my goal is to finish my book review.

week 2 term 2

This term in maths we are doing probability. probability is how much chance is there of getting something. You also need to know about prediction and estimation.

In writing we are writing explanations. an explanation is a detailed description about something.

in our english I am learning how to do vocab work. you have to use a dictionary and find out what the meaning of that word is out of a couple of words.

my goal is to finish my english on time

I will do this by staying undistracted

Week 9 Term 1

This is the last week of term and it is getting busy. we’ve had two maths tests wich were fractions and other things like multiplication and division. In cooking I made a spicy sausage casserole.

My goal is to improve on time management.

I will achieve this by ignoring people.
